A Note From Pastor Jeff . . .
Woodland Forest Family and Friends:
When we return to gathered worship on June 7, 2020, it will have been three months since our last in person worship. It is so difficult for me to comprehend the fact that it has been that long since I have been able to see you all and worship with you.
As we, understandably, long to return to gathered worship, we worship with COVID-19 still looming in the background. When all this began, we were on the cusp of Easter, but we are still waiting on this virus to Passover (a little religious humor). When we return, worship will look different for a while. This virus will not prevent our Worship of God, but it does require us to continue to be diligent in our safety precautions.
Both your spiritual and physical health are of the greatest importance to us at WFC. Our leadership team is working on the specific guidelines to ensure the greatest levels of safety and health. Those will be outlined in the days ahead and (hopefully) posted to the website. Please keep in mind that as we return to gathered church, worship (as it always has been) is a voluntary act.
You know your own health better than anyone and if you do not feel safe in returning or you are in one of the “high risk” demographics please feel free to continue to worship from home. We will continue to provide our online worship offerings. There is NO expectation that anyone has to come to worship—this goes for deacons, trustees, staff, lay leadership or anyone else. We will worship as we are, the best we can, with whoever is able to be present, and we will continue to pray for the easing of this virus to the point that everyone feels safe in retuning to gathered worship.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. And, I hope you all realize that you are loved and continuously prayed for.
Blessings,
Pastor Jeff

The Eleventh Commandment . . . As it Pertains to Regathering
We are looking forward to gathering “On the Hill” for Sunday Worship on Sunday, June 7, at 11 a.m. In preparation for our return, we have already deep cleaned and sanitized the Sanctuary, vestibule, rest rooms and hallway. Other parts of the building are closed and will not be in use for the time being, including the nursery. We will have TRUE FAMILY WORSHIP and celebrate the sounds of life among us.
The following are our guidelines for safely returning to worship “in person”:
Please continue to worship at home …
If you do not feel comfortable worshiping “in person”
if you are feeling sick
if you or someone in your immediate family has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days
If you have been exposed to COVID-19 in the last 14 days
“Personal protective” measures…
Wear a mask if you are 3 years of age or older! (if you do not have a mask, we
will provide one for your use as long as our supply last)
Bring your own Bible and pen or pencil (there are none in the pew racks for now)
Family groups may sit together. Pews have been roped off so that each individual worshipper or family group will be “socially distanced.”
Hand washing or sanitizing after using the rest room is necessary to protect yourself and others.
Sharing HUGS, HAND SHAKES, and other typical close contact “greetings” are not appropriate at this time.
Rest rooms should be limited to 1 user at a time unless users are family members
Other “necessary” measures…
Please remain in your car until 10:55
Please do not enter church office spaces (Pastor Jeff, Mary An, Larry) and areas closed off in the Education wing
Food, drinks, or water (from the cooler) will NOT be available for now.
Gathering in groups for conversation before and after worship is restricted to outdoor areas (parking lot etc.), and please maintain social distance.
Tithes and offerings may be given electronically (see www.woodlandforestchurch.org)…OR…during the worship service, there will be an opportunity to place your offering in the offering plate on the Lord’s Supper Table.
We will not be able to observe the Lord’s Supper for the foreseeable future.
We will also not be able to SING during worship.
About CLEANING THE CHURCH between Sunday Services:
We want to try a 5-team approach to cleaning the church between services. Each team would be composed of three adults and would clean one week each month. The individual team may determine the best time for their work.
Cleaning needs to be done between NOON on WEDNESDAY and NOON on THURSDAY each week to give a 72-hour break for cleaners after the service AND a 72-hour break for worshippers before the next service.
Guidelines for cleaning and cleaning supplies are available at church for each team. Individuals with compromised health should not volunteer for this ministry. Gloves and masks are required for volunteers. Again, we will have these on hand for as long as we are able to procure them!
June team leaders are as follows:
1st Week: Wed., July 1 Fran and Les Duncan, team leaders
(need 1 additional volunteer)
2nd Week: Wed, June 10 Mary An Wilson, team leader
Wed., July 8 (need 2 additional volunteers)
3rd Week: Wed., June 17 Janice Nelson, team leader
Wed., July 15 Frankie and David Hyche
4th Week: Wed., June 24 (need team leader and 2 additional volunteers)
Wed., July 22
5th Week: Wed., July 29 (need team leader and 2 additional volunteers)
